A customer brought in an ASUS Vivobook 15 Laptop with a cracked OLED screen.
This screen is one of the thinnest we’ve ever seen on a 15-inch laptop—only about 1mm thick!
While it looks great, it’s also super fragile. The thinness makes it easy to crack and tricky to replace.
A small mistake during the repair could mean the new screen breaks just as easily.
What is an OLED Screen?
OLED (Organic Light Emitting Diode) screens deliver stunning visuals with each pixel emitting its own light, resulting in deeper blacks and brighter colors.
Unlike traditional LED screens that need a backlight, OLED screens are thinner and more delicate, making them more prone to damage from impacts or pressure.
The Process
Quick Check: As soon as the laptop came in, we took a close look at the cracked screen and assessed the overall condition of the ASUS Vivobook 15.

Why the Problem Happened:
The crack in the OLED screen was likely caused by physical damage, such as a drop, knock, or pressure being applied to the screen.
OLED screens are particularly vulnerable to such incidents due to their thin design and the nature of the materials used in their construction.
Repair Phase:
Our experienced technicians had to be very careful to remove the broken screen and to install the new one, taking extra care not to damage the delicate OLED screen.
Our team began by safely disconnecting the battery to protect the main board.
We then removed the battery and carefully separated the screen panel from the bottom base.
After removing the broken pieces, we securely reattached the screen back.
Once the repair was complete, we reassembled the laptop.
The Result
The repair was done in just 3 days.
The laptop now has a perfect screen again, with no additional damage.
