The HP Envy x360 13-ay is one of HP’s most popular convertible laptops — slim, powerful, and versatile. But with its slim design, the hinges are a common weak point.

In this case, the hinge had broken and completely separated from the screen, leaving the laptop unable to close. Internal wires were exposed, making the laptop vulnerable to further damage.

Adding to the challenge, the screen on this model is fragile and heavily taped down to the back cover, making it very difficult to remove without causing additional damage.

We prioritised this urgent case and:

• Diagnosed the problem within 10 minutes of inspection.
• Confirmed that ordering a genuine Dell part wasn’t an option due to urgency.
• Offered a custom solution to fast-track the repair using compatible, high-quality components.
• During the repair, we discovered an additional part was needed and installed it at no extra cost to the customer.

The entire process was completed within 2.5 hours.

The Dell XPS 8930 was fully restored, powering back on and functioning reliably as the gym’s server computer. Business operations were back on track the same day, saving the customer from extended downtime.
