The Challenge
A customer brought in an HP Envy x360 13-ay laptop with significant hinge damage.
The laptop hinge had detached from the screen, making it impossible to close the HP Envy x360 laptop.
Additionally, an internal wire was exposed, which could lead to further laptop damage.
The screen was fragile and difficult to remove due to being heavily taped down to the back cover, adding to the complexity of the HP Envy x360 repair.
The Process
When the customer arrived at our repair shop, we immediately diagnosed the laptop hinge problem and provided a free estimate.
Understanding the urgency, as the customer needed the HP Envy x360 repaired before Monday, we started the laptop hinge repair on Saturday.
Our team carefully started disassembling by disconnecting battery first to prevent form damaging the main board.
Then we removed the battery we dismantle the screen panel from the bottom base.
After all of these steps we were able to access to damaged hinge.
We removed the broken pieces and resecured the hinge to the screen back cover.
Once we were all done with the fix then we put everything together.
The Result
Within 5 hours, we successfully repaired the HP Envy x360 hinge.
We reinforced the hinge by securing it to the back cover with new bolts and nuts, which are much stronger and more durable than the original plastic fittings.
This laptop repair not only restored the functionality of the HP Envy x360 but also improved its long-term durability.
