Service Description
Accidentally deleted an important file? External drive not showing up? Computer won’t boot and you need your data back? Don’t worry — we can help. At Safemode, we offer professional data recovery services for all types of computers and storage devices.
Data loss can happen for many reasons — hard drive failure, liquid damage, or formatting the wrong drive.
We recover data from PC desktop and laptop computers, USB drives, external hard drives, and SSDs. If your storage is still physically working, there’s a good chance we can get your files back.
Pricing Breakdown
PC data recovery typically starts from $180 to $250+ if you have less than 4TB of data, but the final cost depends on the condition of the drive, how the data is stored, and the physical access required.
Here’s a general guide:
- $180–$250+ → For data recovery from healthy or mildly damaged drives with less than 4TB of data. This includes recovery from laptops or desktops that no longer boot, but the drive is still accessible.
- $280–$350+ → For devices that are difficult to disassemble or where the screen must be broken just to retrieve the drive. This is often the case with ultra-compact systems like Microsoft Surface laptops, where the SSD is buried beneath the screen or logic board.
- $350-$450+ → For recovery jobs involving more than 4TB of data. The process takes longer and may require more advanced sorting and verification during recovery.
- $450+ → For recovery from 5TB+ drives, or NAS drives, or server computer drivers, or other severely damaged drives.
What you’ll need:
-
An external hard drive to store the recovered data. You can provide your own, or we can supply one starting from $100, depending on capacity.
Important: BitLocker encryption
- If your system has BitLocker encryption enabled (common in many Windows 10/11 PCs), we’ll need your 48-digit Recovery Key to access the data.
- If you don’t have access to this key (usually stored in your Microsoft account), data recovery is not possible — even if the drive itself is working.
➡ At Safemode, we’ll always check your drive’s health, recovery potential, and confirm data accessibility before proceeding — no guesswork or hidden costs.
Our Process
- Initial Assessment – We start by inspecting your drive or device to check if the storage is still accessible and what kind of issue caused the data loss.
- Safe Backup (if possible) – If the drive still works, we clone or back it up first to prevent further data loss during recovery.
- Data Recovery Process – We use specialised recovery tools and software to scan the drive and extract lost or deleted files.
- File Sorting & Repair – Once recovered, we organise the files into your home folders if necessary, eg if it’s part of a hard drive replacement with Windows reinstallation.
- Data Transfer – We copy the recovered data to a USB external drive, or new computer — depending on what you prefer.
- Final Review – We let you review the recovered files and verify the results before completing the job.
The Technical Stuff
Data recovery success depends on a few key factors:
- Type of storage – HDD, SSD, USB, external drives, and memory cards all behave differently when damaged.
- Condition of the drive – Drives with physical damage (e.g. clicking, not spinning) often need lab-level recovery.
- File system formats – We support NTFS, FAT32, exFAT, APFS, HFS+, and others for Windows and Mac.
- Type of loss – Deleted files, formatted drives, system crashes, virus-infected files — each requires a different recovery method.
- TRIM on SSDs – On modern SSDs, deleted files may be permanently erased if TRIM was enabled.
- We are unable to recover data from drives that have loud clicking noise, beeping or pulsing sound. We will refer you to a data recovery laboratory in this case.
- Apps, software, programs, settings cannot be recovered. Only files such as documents, pictures, music, video files can be recovered.
- Even if your data is less than the total storage capacity of the drive, recovery tools will still scan the entire drive for any recoverable data. Thus, the bigger the drive, the longer it will take. Recovery tools cannot differentiate what data is important to you. It will scan for all recoverable data, including ones that you might not need.
Our Difference
Data recovery is more than just running software. We take time to assess the situation, avoid further damage, and give you the best chance at getting your files back. If we believe your drive needs lab-based recovery, we’ll tell you upfront — we won’t waste your time or money.
We’ve helped thousands of customers recover everything from business files to precious family photos. We’re careful, honest, and committed to doing it right.
