Service Description
Your PC computer’s hard drive (HDD) or solid-state drive (SSD) stores everything — from Windows to your files and programs. If your computer is suddenly running slow, crashing, or not starting at all, there’s a good chance the drive is failing.
Hard drives and SSDs can stop working due to age, sudden drops, overheating, or power issues. You might hear clicking sounds, see disk errors, or your computer might say there’s no bootable device. In some cases, your files may become inaccessible. Check out the photos on this page to see some of the issues we’ve fixed.
To repair this, we’ll replace your old drive with a new one and reinstall Windows. If your old drive is still readable, we’ll also try to recover your files. Drive replacement should be done by professionals — it requires careful handling, the right tools, and proper setup.
Pricing Breakdown
Notice: due to excessive AI center demand, costs for RAMs, SSDs have skyrocketed. Add $100-$200+ to the prices below for 250Gb-500GB drives. Add $200-$400 for 1TB-2TB drives. Prices are subject to changes without notice.
Prices for hard drive or SSD replacement typically start from $250 for replacing a small-capacity drive (e.g. 128GB SATA SSD). Here’s how the pricing generally works:
- $250–$300 → For standard 128GB to 256GB SATA SSDs or traditional hard drives. Ideal for basic users who browse, stream, or work with documents.
- $300–$420 → For higher-capacity SSDs (e.g. 500GB to 1TB) or faster models with better reliability and speed. Best for multitasking, storing large files, and smoother performance.
- $400-$500+ → For premium, high-performance SSDs, 2TB+ SSDs such as NVMe drives, multi-drive setups, or upgrades in high-end or compact systems where more disassembly is required.
The price depends on several factors:
- Your computer model (some require more work to access the drive)
- The type of drive installed (SATA vs NVMe)
- The capacity you need
- Whether you want data recovery or macOS/Windows reinstallation
In short:
➡ The more you pay, the faster, more durable, and higher-capacity the drive will be.
➡ We always use high-quality, brand-name drives backed by warranty.
Our Process
- We start by inspecting the computer and running diagnostics to confirm that the hard drive or SSD is the cause of the problem.
- We check for potential data recovery options if the old drive still contains important files.
- We disassemble the computer to remove the old hard drive or SSD. For laptops or compact desktops, this may involve removing the bottom panel, battery, or other components to reach the storage.
- We install a new, compatible drive—whether it’s a 2.5″ SATA, M.2 NVMe, or M.2 SATA SSD.
- We install a fresh copy of Windows and all necessary drivers.
- If requested, we can clone the old drive to the new one or transfer data to preserve your settings and files.
- Final testing is performed to ensure the computer boots up quickly and runs smoothly with the new drive.
The Technical Stuff
Hard drives and SSDs come in different types:
- HDD vs SSD: SSDs are much faster and more durable than traditional hard drives.
- Interface type: SATA, M.2 SATA, and M.2 NVMe have different speed capabilities and connectors.
- Form factor: 2.5″, M.2 2230 SSD, M.2 2242 SSD, M.2 2280 SSD, or even larger 3.5″ drives for desktops.
- Capacity: Common sizes include 256GB, 512GB, 1TB, and 2TB+.
- Performance: 2.5″ and 3.5″ hard drive speed is typically 5400rpm or 7200rpm. 2.5″ SSD speed is 450 MB/s, 480 MB/s, or 500 MB/s. NVMe SSD speed varies from 1,700 MB/s to 7,000 MB/s or higher.
- Compatibility: Not all computers support all types of drives. We ensure the new drive is fully compatible with your system before installation.
Even drives that look similar can have subtle differences that affect compatibility or performance.
A common misconception is that a larger drive is faster. This is often not true. For example, a 1TB 2.5″ hard drive will be much slower than a 128GB NVMe SSD.
Our Difference
Identifying a hard drive fault can be difficult, and it takes experience to do so. Testing tools often cannot accurately diagnose hard drive and SSD faults.
Our experienced technicians have completed thousands of storage replacements and upgrades. We can help save your data while manufacturers won’t. We pick HDD or SSD that is better than your original one to ensure the best hard drive or SSD replacement for your PC computer.
We work closely with trusted suppliers to ensure all new hard drives and SSDs are high-quality and covered by warranty with advanced replacements available in case of rare defects.
A new drive can dramatically improve the speed and reliability of your computer—let us help bring your PC back to life!
